Kashmir Champions Football League 2026 Draws Massive Crowds

The inaugural Kashmir Champions Football League (KCFL) 2026 has drawn large and growing crowds since its June 16 launch, with the first 10 matches at Srinagar’s TRC Turf Ground featuring close contests and rising spectator numbers. Officials reported that attendance increased on each match day, peaking on June 21 when tourists visiting Kashmir joined local fans at the venue.

First Government-Scouted League Blends Local Talent with Professionals

Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the KCFL is the first initiative of its kind by a government in India, where players were scouted from all districts, district teams were formed, and local footballers were given equal opportunity to compete alongside professional players in balanced teams. This structure has fostered healthy rivalry and sportsmanship across the Valley.

“Each match day has witnessed increasing spectator turnout, with football fans from different parts of the Valley thronging the venue to support their respective teams,” an official said. The atmosphere peaked on June 21, when tourists also turned up in large numbers to watch the matches.
