Meerut Spartans Dominate Final to Lift Trophy
DDH Meerut Spartans secured the Future Star Under-15 Championship title with a commanding nine-wicket victory over Karim Capital Chargers in the final at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad on Wednesday. The Spartans chased down the target of 108 runs with more than three overs remaining, capping a dominant performance across the eight-day tournament.
Chargers Struggle After Being Put in to Bat
Opting to bowl first, Meerut Spartans restricted the Chargers to 107 all out in 19.3 overs, with three balls left unused. Arjun Mishra top-scored with 27 runs, while Eklavya added a late 22, but the innings faltered against a disciplined bowling attack. Prakhar Vishnoi was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets for 33 runs, including two stumpings down the leg side. Ashwin Mavi and Avi Kumar supported with two wickets each, conceding just 10 and 17 runs respectively.
Spartans Chase Down Target with Ease
In reply, Meerut Spartans lost opener Atharv Sharma early for 13, caught and bowled by Arav Patel. However, Haryaksh and Ansh Mittal then put together an unbroken partnership to steer the team home. Haryaksh remained unbeaten on 57 off 56 balls, striking three sixes, while Mittal contributed a steady 31 not out. The pair added 95 runs for the second wicket, ensuring the target was reached in 16.3 overs without further loss.
Tournament Organiser Praises Young Talent
Subhash Rajput of Red Rock, the tournament organiser, highlighted the significance of the event. "This is exactly what we set out to build, a stage where a fifteen-year-old can bowl a spell like Prakhar's in front of a live audience and know it counts," he said. "Meerut Spartans were the most complete side across the eight days, and both finalists have earned every bit of what they take home from this."
Match Summary and Key Performances

Tournament Backed by Major Sponsors and Personalities
The championship, supported by the Krishna Apra Group, ran across eight days and featured group stages, knockouts, and a final with a title at stake. For many players, it was their first experience of performing in front of a live audience and having their efforts streamed. The tournament also carried the backing of former cricketers Aakash Chopra and Parthiv Patel, whose involvement brought attention to the Under-15 age group that rarely receives such focus. The format ensured a proper tournament structure rather than a one-off weekend, raising the standard of play.
Impact on Young Cricketers
Karim Capital Chargers earned their place in the final by navigating the full bracket, while Meerut Spartans leave Ghaziabad as champions with match figures and a streamed final that will accompany both squads as they progress to the next age group. For a group of fifteen-year-olds, that experience is invaluable.
