Preparations Completed at Varanasi Railway Stations for NEET Exam Crowd
Varanasi: Railway officials at stations in Varanasi have completed preparations to manage the crowd of around 25,000 aspirants scheduled to appear for the NEET examination on June 21. Varanasi Junction (Cantt railway station) station director Arpit Gupta confirmed that additional staff are being deployed at platforms and entry and exit gates to handle the influx.
Students from several districts began arriving in the city on Saturday, a day before the exam, to ensure they reach their test centers on time. The railway administration has made comprehensive arrangements to facilitate smooth movement and comfort of the candidates and their families.
Security and Crowd Management Measures
To strengthen security arrangements, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) teams have been instructed to remain vigilant. They will assist in crowd management and queue regulation, while ensuring proper announcements and the operation of help counters. The authorities aim to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain order during the peak travel period.
Special attention is being given to basic amenities including drinking water, cleanliness, seating arrangements, and inquiry services for the convenience of candidates and their family members. The railway administration has set up help desks at key locations to guide passengers and answer queries.
Medical Facilities and Passenger Advisory
For medical assistance, a dedicated team and first-aid facilities will be available on station premises. This ensures that any health emergencies can be addressed promptly. The railway administration has appealed to passengers to reach the station on time and follow instructions so that arrangements run smoothly.
According to station director Arpit Gupta, the deployment of additional staff and enhanced security measures are part of a coordinated effort to handle the large number of students. He urged candidates to cooperate with railway personnel and use the help counters for any assistance.
