The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on Tuesday declared that the re-examination for the Sub Inspector recruitment exam 2021 will be conducted on September 20. The announcement comes after the earlier exam was cancelled following a paper leak scandal.
Key Dates and Portal Access
According to Ramniwas Mehta, Secretary of RPSC, the official portal will remain open from May 16 to 30 for candidates to make amendments or rectifications in certain columns. Only those who appeared in the previous examination are eligible to update their information. Candidates can log in using their registered mobile number and email to access their profiles. The existing profile information from the old ID will be transferred to the new profile automatically.
Mehta emphasized that it is compulsory for all candidates to fill in their KYC details during this period. The commission has issued detailed directions and eligibility criteria on its official website for reference.
Background of the Exam Cancellation
On May 5, the RPSC canceled the SI exam 2021 based on a directive from the Rajasthan High Court. The Special Operations Group (SOG) had arrested over 125 individuals in connection with the alleged paper leak, including dummy candidates, trainees, members of the paper mafia, and brokers. The investigation revealed a widespread network involved in compromising the examination process.
RPSC Chairman Utkal Ranjan Sahoo stated that the decision to conduct the re-examination was taken in accordance with the state government directive issued on May 6. The commission aims to ensure a fair and transparent selection process for the candidates.
Details of the Previous Examination
A total of 3,83,097 candidates appeared in the earlier SI exam 2021, which was conducted on September 13 and 14, 2021. The written test comprised papers in general Hindi, general knowledge, and general science. Following the written test, candidates underwent physical tests and interviews. Those who successfully cleared all stages had joined training at the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA).
The recruitment drive was intended to fill 859 vacancies for the posts of Sub Inspector and Platoon Commander in the Rajasthan Police force. With the re-examination now scheduled, candidates are advised to prepare accordingly and utilize the portal update window to ensure their details are accurate.
