Smriti Mandhana's Wedding Postponed Indefinitely

In a sudden turn of events, Indian women's cricket team star Smriti Mandhana has postponed her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal after her father, Shriniwas Mandhana, experienced a serious health complication on Sunday. The ceremony was scheduled to take place the same day the medical emergency occurred.

Father's Health Deteriorates During Breakfast

The crisis unfolded on Sunday morning when Shriniwas Mandhana, who has been an integral part of Smriti's cricket journey from the beginning, began experiencing health issues while having breakfast. According to family manager Tuhin Mishra, his condition started deteriorating during the meal, prompting immediate concern.

"We waited thinking he would recover soon, but it didn't improve," Mishra revealed. "So we thought not to take any risk and called an ambulance, and he has been taken to the hospital. He is under observation."

Medical Details and Family Decision

Family doctor Dr. Naman Shah provided crucial medical details about the situation. "At around 1.30 pm, Sriniwas Mandhana got left-sided chest pain, we call it 'angina' in medical term," Dr. Shah explained. "As the symptoms surfaced, his son called me, we sent ambulance, he was shifted to hospital. We found out in ECG, other reports, that cardiac enzymes are elevated, hence we need to keep him in observation."

The medical team confirmed that Shriniwas Mandhana requires ongoing hospital care and monitoring, leading to the difficult family decision to postpone the wedding celebrations.

Close Father-Daughter Bond Influences Decision

Mishra emphasized the strong bond between Smriti and her father as the primary reason for postponing the ceremony. "Smriti is very close to her father. So, she has decided to postpone the marriage, which was going to happen today, till her father is fine," he stated.

The cricketer made it clear that her father's recovery takes priority over all other considerations. "Smriti is very clear, she wants her father to be okay first, and later she will get married," Mishra added, while requesting privacy for the family during this challenging time.

Wedding Events and Future Plans

The wedding had been planned as a week-long celebration in Sangli, Mandhana's hometown in Maharashtra. Several pre-wedding events had already commenced before Sunday's unexpected development.

Regarding rescheduling, Mishra confirmed that no new date has been set for the ceremony. "It has been indefinitely postponed," he told media representatives, noting that Smriti wants to ensure her father's complete recovery before proceeding with wedding plans.

The cricket community and fans have expressed support for the Mandhana family, hoping for Shriniwas Mandhana's speedy recovery during this difficult period.
