Three Groups Vie for Power in Baroda Cricket Association Elections
Three Groups Contest Baroda Cricket Association Polls

The Baroda Cricket Association elections are heating up with a three-way contest for control. Candidates from three distinct groups submitted their nomination papers on Monday, setting the stage for a competitive battle.

Multiple Groups Enter the Fray

Three political groups within the association filed nominations for various key positions. The Revival Group, currently led by president Pranav Amin, the Royal Group headed by Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, and the Satyamev Jayate Group under Darshan Banker all entered candidates.

A total of 168 nomination forms reached the election office before Monday's deadline. These cover all important posts including president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and multiple committee positions.

Alliance Dynamics Remain Unclear

Previous elections saw the Revival Group and Royal Group governing together. This arrangement now appears uncertain as talks about sharing office-bearer positions reportedly broke down.

Both established groups remain quiet about their election strategies. Meanwhile, the Satyamev Jayate Group claims the Royal Group might join forces with them for the upcoming polls.

Groups Outline Their Agendas

Jatin Vakil, representing the Satyamev Jayate Group, emphasized their positive approach. "We contest these elections with a clear agenda of good governance and cricket improvement in our city," Vakil stated after filing multiple nominations.

From the Royal Group, Anant Indulkar submitted his nomination for the presidential post along with other positions. Indulkar confirmed his group filed nominations for all 31 available posts within the association.

"Our primary goal remains improving cricket standards throughout Vadodara," Indulkar explained regarding their election participation.

Election Timeline and Process

Monday marked the final day for candidates to submit their nomination papers. Election officials will conduct scrutiny of all nominations on Tuesday to verify their validity.

The actual voting for Baroda Cricket Association positions is scheduled for February 15. Members will cast their ballots to determine who leads the association forward.

This election represents a significant moment for cricket administration in Vadodara. The outcome will shape how the sport develops in the region for years to come.
