The unfortunate incident occurred around 4 PM on Tuesday while Shiv Kumar was actively engaged in preparing the wicket for an upcoming Under-23 cricket tournament match in Kanpur. According to UPCA official Ahmad Ali Khan Talib, Kumar experienced a cardiac problem while working at the ground.
Emergency Response and Hospital Transfer
Immediately after the medical emergency, Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. However, doctors at the initial facility referred him to a specialized cardiology institute for advanced treatment. Tragically, he breathed his last at the gate of the cardiology institute before he could receive the specialized care he needed.
Family Notification and Final Rites
Shiv Kumar's wife and son, who currently reside in Pune, have been informed about his sudden demise. The family has made arrangements for his final rites, with his cremation scheduled to take place in Bareilly on Wednesday.
