Rock Garden Warriors secured a place in the Chandigarh Premier League final after a five-wicket win over Capital Strikers in the semifinal at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula on Wednesday.
Strikers set 159-run target
Warriors captain won the toss and elected to field first. Strikers posted 159 for nine in 20 overs. Opener Nehal Pajni provided a brisk start with 36 off 19 balls. Skipper Arjun Azad top-scored with 47 off 29 deliveries. Chetan Redhu was the pick of the bowlers for Warriors, taking three wickets. Raman Bishnoi claimed two, while Nishunk Birla took one.
Bhandari leads chase
In reply, Warriors reached 160 for five with five balls to spare. Aarush Bhandari anchored the innings with a brilliant 70 off 52 balls, hitting 10 fours. Raman Bishnoi smashed 39 off just 15 balls, including four sixes and two boundaries. For Strikers, Sahil Kumar took two wickets, while Ranvijay Singh Lalotra and Nikhil Sharma picked one each.
Warriors will now await the winner of the second semifinal between Mohali Blues and Junior 11 Cricket Club to know their opponent in the final.
