A tragic incident occurred in the Greater Noida Jewar area on Tuesday evening when a four-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a motorcycle. The collision also left two others injured, including the bike rider. Despite the severity of the incident, the girl's family declined to file a police complaint.
Details of the Incident
According to a senior police officer, the incident took place around 5:40 pm in Khativana village. The young girl was playing in a lane near her residence when two men approached on a motorcycle. CCTV footage from the area reveals that the child suddenly moved towards the oncoming bike, resulting in the collision. The impact left the girl and both men on the motorcycle injured, prompting passersby to rush to their aid.
Emergency Response and Aftermath
Family members and local residents immediately contacted the 112 emergency helpline. Police personnel arrived at the scene and transported the girl to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. Authorities suspect she sustained a severe head injury. The girl's parents refused to file a police complaint and did not grant permission for an autopsy. Her last rites were conducted the same evening.
Initial investigations, corroborated by CCTV evidence, suggest that the child ran towards the bike after spotting a friend, failing to notice the approaching vehicle, police added.
