The inaugural edition of the Parents Cricket League (PCL) concluded in Kochi on Sunday, with parent teams from nine schools across the state competing in a two-day tournament. Organized by Naipunya Public School, the event saw parents swapping the sidelines for the cricket field in a celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community bonding.
Participating Schools and Teams
Teams from Rajagiri Public School, Rajagiri Higher Secondary School, Cochin International School, Guardian Angel School, Vidhodaya School, Bhavans Varuna Vidyalaya, and Perumbalam Govt Higher Secondary School took part, alongside the two host teams: NPS Strikers and NPS Fighters.
Objectives and Highlights
Fr Simon Pallupetta, executive director of Naipunya Public School, stated that the initiative aimed to promote unity, healthy living, teamwork, and active community participation through sports. The event featured live streaming, expert commentary, cash prizes, and special awards for outstanding players.
PTA president Sibin Raghavan announced that the organizers plan to make the Parents Cricket League an annual sporting event with broader participation in the coming years.
