In a thrilling IPL 2026 qualifier, Shubman Gill's magnificent century powered the Gujarat Titans into the final, overshadowing a valiant 96 from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of the Rajasthan Royals. The Titans chased down a challenging target of 215 with ease, thanks to Gill's unbeaten 104 off 55 balls.
Rajasthan Royals' Innings
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals posted a formidable 214 for six in their 20 overs, largely due to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's explosive 96 off 48 deliveries. His innings included 10 fours and 5 sixes, keeping the Royals in contention. Donovan Ferreira provided a late surge with a quickfire 38 not out off 18 balls, helping the team cross the 200-run mark.
Gujarat Titans' Response
In response, the Gujarat Titans lost an early wicket but Shubman Gill anchored the chase with a masterful innings. He found able support from Sai Sudharsan, who scored 42 off 30 balls, and David Miller, who contributed a brisk 28 off 15. Gill reached his century in the 18th over, finishing the match with a six over long-on. The Titans reached 215 for three in 19.2 overs.
The victory secured Gujarat Titans a spot in the IPL 2026 final, where they will face the winner of the second qualifier. For Rajasthan Royals, it was a heartbreaking end despite Sooryavanshi's heroics, as his efforts went in vain.
