The Kashi Rudras franchise has received an overwhelming response to its open player trials for the upcoming fourth season of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League (UPT20), with more than 1,100 aspiring cricketers registering to showcase their abilities. The trials took place on Tuesday at Sigra Stadium in Varanasi, according to a franchise press release.
Participants from Across Uttar Pradesh
Players travelled from multiple cities across the state, including Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and several other districts, demonstrating the broad reach of the Kashi Rudras' grassroots talent identification initiative. The selection process is being led by coaches Dhruv Singh and Ubaid Kamal, who are evaluating participants as part of the franchise's player development programme aimed at discovering and nurturing hidden talent from its catchment region.

Over the past three seasons, the Kashi Rudras have established themselves as a leading franchise in promoting grassroots talent. Players such as Kartik Yadav, Amar Choudhary, and Deepak Rana earned opportunities through the franchise's open trials and have since gone on to represent the team in the UPT20 League, reinforcing the effectiveness of the programme.
Selection and Auction Details
The required squad strength for the UPT20 League is between 23 and 25 players. Of these, five to seven players will be selected through the trials. The UPT20 Season 4 Player Auction is scheduled to take place in Agra on July 22, where Kashi Rudras will complete their squad for the upcoming season.
