Watson's Impressive Cricket Pedigree
Shane Watson brings an extraordinary wealth of experience to his new role with KKR. The 44-year-old Australian was part of two ODI World Cup-winning squads in 2007 and 2015, establishing himself as one of the most formidable all-rounders of his generation. During his international career spanning 59 Tests, 190 ODIs and 58 T20Is, Watson amassed over 10,000 runs and claimed nearly 300 wickets at the highest level.
His IPL credentials are equally impressive, having featured in the tournament for 12 consecutive years from 2008 to 2020. Watson began his IPL journey with Rajasthan Royals, where he played from 2008 to 2015 before moving to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He concluded his playing career with Chennai Super Kings from 2018 to 2020. Throughout his 145 IPL matches, Watson scored 3,874 runs including four centuries while also taking 92 wickets. He won two IPL titles - with Rajasthan Royals in 2008 and Chennai Super Kings in 2018.

Watson now joins a revamped coaching setup under head coach Abhishek Nayar, who recently replaced Chandrakant Pandit.
