India Dominate Zimbabwe in Series Finale

India secured a comprehensive 35-run victory over Zimbabwe in the third and final T20I at Harare Sports Club on Sunday, completing a 3-0 series sweep. Chasing a target of 193, Zimbabwe managed only 157/7 in their 20 overs. Indian captain Shreyas Iyer celebrated his first series win since taking charge of the T20I side last month.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Shines with the Bat

India posted a competitive 192/5 after winning the toss. The innings was anchored by 15-year-old opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smashed 81 off 49 balls, including eight fours and four sixes. He brought up his second T20I half-century in just 31 balls. Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma started aggressively, scoring 17 runs off the first over from Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza. However, Blessing Muzarabani dismissed Abhishek for 2 in the next over. Ishan Kishan contributed 29 off 26 balls before being bowled by Raza. Shreyas Iyer made 27 off 18, and Rinku Singh added a quick 25 off 14 balls to push India past 190. For Zimbabwe, Brad Evans was the most successful bowler with 2/41, while Raza, Muzarabani, and Wessly Madhevere took one wicket each.

Zimbabwe's Chase Falls Short

Zimbabwe's chase got off to a disastrous start as opener Brian Bennett was dismissed on the first ball of the innings by Yash Thakur. Thakur struck again in the fourth over, removing Dion Myers (19 off 15) and Sikandar Raza (0) in consecutive deliveries. Ryan Burl and Ben Curran added 31 runs for the fourth wicket before Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Curran for 20. Burl then put on 60 runs with Wessly Madhevere (28 off 25) for the fifth wicket. Mayank Yadav broke the partnership in the 16th over and later dismissed Brad Evans in the final over to finish with 3 wickets. Burl remained unbeaten on 54 off 43 balls, hitting five boundaries, but it was not enough. Mayank Yadav took 3/xx, Yash Thakur 2/xx, while Ashok Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi took one each. According to ANI, this victory marked India's third consecutive T20I win after six defeats on tours of Ireland and England.

Series Sweep for New Captain Shreyas Iyer

The series win is a significant milestone for Shreyas Iyer, who took over the T20I captaincy last month. The Indian team displayed a strong all-round performance, with young players stepping up in key moments. The 3-0 whitewash emphasizes India's dominance in the shortest format and builds momentum for upcoming international assignments.
