Jaipur: Shyam Sundar Swami, a talented archer from Rajasthan, has been selected for the Indian para archery team after securing second place in the selection trials for the Asian Para Games. The games are scheduled to take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, from October 18 to 24, 2026. The Archery Association of India organized the selection trial in Sonipat, Haryana.

Selection Trial Details

According to Surendra Singh Gurjar, General Secretary of the Rajasthan Archery Association, the two-day selection trials featured the best para archers from across the country. Shyam Sundar Swami performed excellently, finishing second and securing his place in the Indian team for the upcoming Para Asian Games.

Gurjar noted that this will be Swami's third consecutive appearance representing India at an Asian-level competition, a feat that brings pride to both Rajasthan and the entire nation.

Recognition and Congratulations

Deependra Singh, President of the Rajasthan Archery Association, praised the continuous brilliant performances of Rajasthan's archers at national and international levels. He stated that the state's archery standards are reaching new heights, with players creating a unique identity through discipline, hard work, and dedication.

Singh extended special congratulations to Swami's coach, Anil Joshi, emphasizing that the hard work and guidance of coaches play a crucial role in the success of athletes. He expressed confidence that Swami will bring glory to India and Rajasthan by winning a medal at the upcoming Para Asian Games.
