Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon Returns to Udaipur on Sep 6

The Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, known as India's Most Beautiful Marathon, is set to return to Udaipur on September 6, 2026, for its third edition. Organised by Hindustan Zinc Limited in association with Any Body Can Run, this AIMS-certified marathon previously drew 7,000 runners from 27 Indian states and several countries. It will once again welcome participants from across India and beyond to experience a memorable run.

Scenic Route and Community Spirit

The marathon takes runners through Udaipur's scenic Fateh Sagar lakeside route, heritage lanes, and the majestic Aravalli backdrop, offering a visually stunning and culturally rich experience. It has grown into one of India's most distinctive community-driven sporting platforms, bringing together runners, fitness enthusiasts, first-time participants, corporate teams, women runners, senior citizens, differently abled participants, and global running communities. Rooted in the spirit of 'One Run, One Community,' the marathon celebrates endurance, inclusivity, resilience, and togetherness.

Growing Popularity

The second edition saw a 40% rise in participation, reflecting its growing popularity among state, national, and international runners. This year's edition will feature three race categories: the 21 km Half Marathon, 10 km Cool Run, and 5 km Dream Run, welcoming participants across all age groups and fitness levels.

Impact Beyond the Finish Line

Over the last two years, the marathon has evolved into a celebration of community-led fitness, civic pride, and purpose-driven participation. It has strengthened Udaipur's identity as a destination for running, wellness, and sports tourism, encouraging citizens and visitors to experience the city's unique blend of culture, nature, and heritage. With 7,000 participants in its previous edition, the event contributes to Udaipur's sports tourism and community engagement, bringing together runners, families, local businesses, hospitality partners, travel stakeholders, and fitness communities. The marathon also continues its social commitment through a run-for-cause initiative, encouraging collective action for meaningful community impact.

Registration and Medal

Registrations for the 2026 marathon will open on June 1, 2026, through the Udaipur Marathon and Hindustan Zinc social media pages and websites, and will remain open until slots are filled. A virtual run option will allow participants to join from anywhere in the world. Participants will receive an exclusive Zinc Finisher Medal inspired by Hindustan Zinc's mines, symbolising the spirit of Zinc City.
