Djokovic Open to Cricket Match with Kohli

Novak Djokovic has expressed a keen interest in playing cricket with Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, revealing plans to visit India in the near future. The tennis legend shared his admiration during an interview with JioStar, highlighting his respect for Kohli and Indian cricket.

“I would love to play some cricket and tennis with Virat Kohli. I am planning to visit India in the near future, and we have been communicating about it,” Djokovic said. He described Kohli as a “global star,” especially in India, and expressed a desire for Kohli to host him. “I have a lot of respect for him and for Indian cricket,” he added.

Learning Cricket from British Teammates

Djokovic noted that cricket is not popular in his home country, Serbia. However, he has been learning about the game over the past 10–15 years, partly due to British members of his team who love cricket. “I still need to work on my cricketing skills. Maybe Virat can help me with my technique and bat swing,” he said.

Wimbledon Legacy and Achievements

In the same interview, Djokovic reflected on his remarkable journey at Wimbledon, where he has won the title seven times. “A lot of my legacy is built on what I have achieved here at Wimbledon,” he stated. He recalled dreaming of winning the tournament as a child and achieving that goal in 2011, followed by multiple titles and finals. “For some reason, I have always managed to bring out the best tennis of my life on this grass surface, especially on Centre Court,” he explained, attributing his success to the energy, history, and atmosphere.

Djokovic emphasized his gratitude for still competing at a high level, reaching another quarter-final. “Hopefully, I can go at least a few more steps further this year,” he added.
