Heroin Consignment Recovered in Attari

During a routine patrol, a team from the Gharinda police station received specific intelligence regarding a suspicious yellow packet near a house in the Shiv Nagri locality of Attari. Acting promptly on the tip-off, the police recovered the packet and discovered it contained 4.379 kg of heroin. The contraband was seized following prescribed legal procedures, and a case has been registered under Sections 21(c) and 61/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Arrest with Illegal Firearm in Ajnala

In a separate operation, a police patrol near Bhakha Tara Singh village on the main road leading to the newly constructed national highway intercepted a youth walking along the roadside near Gujjapir village. The individual was identified as Sagarpreet Singh, a resident of ward No. 15, Ajnala. During a frisking, police recovered an illegal .30-bore pistol along with a magazine from his possession. He was taken into custody, and a case under the relevant provisions of the Arms Act has been registered.
