Four Arrested with 52 Grams of Brown Sugar in Sahibganj
Late on Wednesday, police arrested four individuals and seized 52 grams of brown sugar from a forested area near the Vijaypur-Mayurjhuti road, under the Ranga police station limits in Sahibganj district. The operation was based on a tip-off about illegal drug trade.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Barharwa Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nitin Khandelwal stated that police received intelligence regarding a car parked near the roadside jungle, where illegal trade was allegedly being conducted. "We conducted a raid and arrested four persons from the spot," the SDPO said, adding that the value of the narcotic item was being assessed.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rajesh Paswan (45), Sanjeet Kumar (39), and Sanjay Kumar Verma (34), all residents of Kahalgaon in Bihar, and Lalmohan Sah (26) of Telipada under Barharwa police station in Sahibganj district.
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to curb drug trafficking in the region. The police continue to investigate the source and network involved in this illegal trade.
