Visakhapatnam: Velaga Mohit Mourya and Swarna Kolagotla, two NCC cadets from GITAM, Visakhapatnam, have been selected for the international youth exchange programme (YEP) 2026. Representing the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana directorate, the duo will serve as cultural ambassadors in Russia and the United Kingdom respectively. The YEP is a flagship initiative of the NCC aimed at fostering global perspectives, diplomatic exchange, and mutual understanding between India and friendly nations.

According to university officials, Mohit Mourya (B.A. Psychology Honours) has proven to be a committed NCC cadet. Following an intensive three-month evaluation process and participation in the Republic Day Camp 2026 in New Delhi, Mohit has been appointed as the delegation leader for the Kyrgyzstan (Russia) contingent. He was also selected for the Prime Minister’s Rally.

Swarna Kolagotla (B.Tech Computer Science Engineering) also participated in the RDC camp held in New Delhi this year. Building on a foundation that began during her school years with an NCC ‘A’ Certificate, Swarna’s dedication led her through a rigorous multi-level selection process.
