Khargone: A man was arrested on Wednesday with 10 grams of brown sugar valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh in the Bistan police station area of Khargone district. The accused, identified as 41-year-old Rizwan Pathan, is a scrap dealer and a resident of Sanjay Nagar in Khargone.
Acting on a tip-off, Bistan police apprehended Pathan from near Bhilat Dev Temple on Bistan-Awali Road while he was searching for customers to sell the narcotics. Bistan police station in-charge Gulab Singh Rawat confirmed the arrest.
Pathan was produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody for two days. Rawat revealed that Pathan has a substantial criminal record, with 13 cases registered against him. These include offences related to theft, robbery, housebreaking, assault, communal disturbance, and violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
