Mumbai Police Quiz Khemlani in Ecstasy Deaths Case

Mumbai: The police are currently interrogating Khemlani in connection with the Ecstasy pills case that led to the deaths of two MBA students. He is being questioned jointly with co-accused Ayush Sahitya and Vineet Gerelani. On Monday, the magistrate court ordered Sahitya and Gerelani to be sent back from judicial custody to police custody, following an application filed by the police.

Police Suspect International Drug Link

Police suspect that Khemlani and Sahitya obtained Ecstasy pills from overseas. So far, the police have recovered 935 pills from Sahitya. During the court proceedings, Khemlani's lawyer argued that nothing had been recovered from his client.

Background of the Case

On April 11, two MBA students consumed Ecstasy pills at a music concert in Goregaon and died the following day. Another female student, who also consumed Ecstasy, fell ill but has since recovered after treatment. The police have arrested 12 individuals in the case so far, including two MBA students who were classmates of the deceased.
