The results of the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) 2026 were officially announced on Tuesday at Mangalagiri, marking a historic milestone with the highest-ever candidate participation and an impressive overall pass percentage.

Record Participation and Performance

A total of 1,77,581 candidates registered for the examination, out of which 1,63,008 appeared—an increase of over 23,000 candidates compared to the previous year. The test was conducted on April 25, and as many as 1,48,950 candidates successfully qualified, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 91.37%.

Gender Performance

Girls once again outperformed boys in the examination. The pass percentage among female candidates stood at 93.57%, while male candidates achieved a pass percentage of 89.88%.

District-Wise Analysis

Among the districts, Alluri Sitharama Raju district topped the list with an exceptional pass percentage of 99.11%. It was followed by Polavaram district at 95.46% and Prakasam district at 94.72%. Officials noted that the strong performance from tribal and agency areas reflects improved access to education in remote regions.

Candidates can view their results on the official POLYCET website. Additionally, results are accessible through the state's WhatsApp-based governance service by sending a message to 9552300009 with their hall ticket number.

Admission Prospects

For the academic year 2026–27, approximately 84,000 seats are available across 265 polytechnic institutions in the state. This includes 87 government colleges and 178 private colleges. With 1,48,950 candidates qualifying, competition for admissions is expected to be intense.
