Nagpur Power Outage Scheduled for Pre-Monsoon Maintenance
Residents of several localities in the Civil Lines division of Nagpur will face scheduled power outages on Friday due to pre-monsoon maintenance and repair works being undertaken by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). According to MSEDCL officials, the shutdown will affect areas connected to the Aakar Nagar, Air Force area, and Clark Town feeders during different morning hours.
Power supply will remain suspended from 7 am to 10 am in Aakar Nagar, Pioneer Green, Swami Colony, Rachana Society, and Anupam Society areas. Similarly, electricity supply will remain disrupted from 7 am to 11 am in Sindhi Colony, Kadbi Chowk, Christian Colony, Lumbini Nagar, and Clark Town areas. In another phase of the maintenance work, residents of Gandhi Layout, Shyam Lawn, Sangam Nagar, Suraj Nagar, Kalbande Hospital, and Basera Apartment areas will face power cuts from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.
Reason for the Power Cuts
MSEDCL stated that the maintenance work is part of its annual pre-monsoon preparedness exercise aimed at strengthening the power distribution network and preventing faults during the rainy season. The power utility has expressed regret over the inconvenience likely to be caused to citizens and appealed to residents to complete important household and commercial activities in advance before the scheduled shutdown period.
Residents are advised to plan their day accordingly and make necessary arrangements to minimize disruption. MSEDCL assures that the maintenance will enhance the reliability of power supply in the long run.
