Gorakhpur: Prof Ajay Kumar Shukla, former head of the English department at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, has officially taken over as the director of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC). He succeeds Prof Chandrashekhar in this role.
About MMTTC
MMTTC is a flagship initiative of the University Grants Commission (UGC). It organizes faculty induction programs, refresher courses, orientation programs, and training related to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for university and college teachers across India.
Prof Shukla's Experience
With over 28 years of experience in higher education and research, Prof Shukla has been a professor since 2013. His areas of expertise include English literature, research methodology, academic integrity, digital education, and teacher training. He has supervised 17 PhD scholars, authored and edited 11 books, and published more than 50 research papers in reputed national and international journals.
An experienced academic administrator, Prof Shukla has served on editorial and advisory boards of several journals and has been associated with academic bodies of various universities.
Vision and Commitment
Upon assuming office, Prof Shukla expressed gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Prof Poonam Tandon and pledged to strengthen faculty development, research excellence, and effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.
