Sennheiser Debuts Spectera SKM Transmitter at PALM Expo 2026

Sennheiser demonstrated its latest professional audio technologies at the recently held PALM Expo 2026 in Mumbai. The showcase included the India debut of the upcoming Spectera SKM handheld transmitter. The company also displayed its Spectera wireless ecosystem, monitoring solutions, and wireless audio management tools, targeting live production, broadcast, theater, and content creation professionals.

Spectera SKM Handheld Transmitter Features

The Spectera SKM handheld transmitter boasts bi-directional functionality, allowing users to remotely control parameters such as gain and low-cut settings. It is compatible with both Sennheiser and Neumann microphone capsules and is scheduled to be available from September 2026. The transmitter is part of the Spectera ecosystem, built on Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems (WMAS) technology. This platform combines microphones, in-ear monitoring, and control data within a single wideband RF channel, enabling wireless audio management through a single system.

Complete Spectera Workflow

At the exhibition, Sennheiser demonstrated a complete Spectera workflow, including the Spectera Base Station, SEK bodypacks, integrated antennas, and the WebUI interface for real-time monitoring and control. According to the company, the Spectera platform supports up to 64 channels, comprising 32 inputs and 32 outputs, through a single 1RU base station. The system is designed for live sound, broadcast, and theater environments requiring flexible wireless audio deployments.

Additional Product Showcases

Alongside Spectera, Sennheiser also displayed the new HD 480 Pro closed-back monitoring headphones, designed for recording, tracking, and monitoring applications in studio and live audio environments. Visitors experienced SoundBase, a software platform for wireless audio management and RF planning, which enables coordination, communication, and management of wireless audio systems through a single interface. Other products showcased included the Digital 6000 Series and EW-DX wireless systems, 2000 Series in-ear monitoring solutions, and microphones such as the MD 421 Kompakt, Neumann MCM, KMS 104, KMS 105, MD 435, and MD 445. Headphone models like the HD 490 PRO Plus and HD 25 were also presented.

Event Attendance

PALM Expo 2026 attracted professionals, partners, customers, and audio technology enthusiasts from across the industry. According to Sennheiser, more than 1,500 visitors attended its booth during the event.
