Skoda Auto India has officially launched the 2026 Skoda Kodiaq SUV in the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs 36.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While the overall design and mechanical setup remain unchanged from the previous model, the new Kodiaq introduces several feature revisions aimed at enhancing the ownership experience. Skoda has also significantly revised the Kodiaq's pricing structure. The entry-level Lounge trim is now more affordable by Rs 3 lakh, while the Sportline variant commands a premium of Rs 1 lakh. Prices for the range-topping Selection L&K have also gone up by Rs 50,000.
Key Updates and Features
The biggest addition to the 2026 Kodiaq is the inclusion of Level 2 ADAS on mid-spec Sportline and Selection L&K variants. This system includes adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlights, lane keep assist, blind spot warning, front warning assist, rear cross traffic alert, and more. The Sportline variant now gets several features previously limited to the top-spec Selection L&K trim, including an illuminated grille, Level 1 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and a pre-crash occupant protection system.
Interior and Technology
Apart from these, the Kodiaq continues to get a 13.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster with a head-up display, 15W wireless smartphone charging with active cooling, unique LED ambient light strip placements, and umbrella storage at the front doors. Other expected features include connected car technology, an in-built navigation system, a premium sound system, a performance-oriented features display, a power delivery display, and an off-road information display.
Powertrain and Efficiency
The Skoda Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engine producing 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels. Skoda claims a fuel efficiency of 14.86 kmpl for the Kodiaq.
Competition and Rivals
The SUV will compete against rivals including the Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, MG Gloster, and Jeep Meridian, while also serving as an alternative to the upcoming MG Majestor.
