Jharsuguda: Star Air is set to resume its flight services connecting Jharsuguda with Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad from May 15, 2026, bringing relief to air travellers in the region, Jharsuguda airport director Upendra Nath Dhaundia said here on Thursday.
Revised Schedule Announced
Confirming the development, Dhaundia stated that the airline, which had earlier suspended operations on these routes, will restart services with a revised schedule. “Star Air has announced resumption of flights for the Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad sectors from May 15 with a change in timings. The flights are likely to operate in the morning, proving beneficial for passengers,” he said.
Reason for Suspension
Sources said the airline had suspended its services on both routes from April 10, citing a sharp rise in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices and operational challenges.
Benefits for Travellers
The service is expected to improve connectivity for passengers travelling between western Odisha and key cities like Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad, particularly benefiting business travellers and daily commuters.
Current Connectivity
At present, IndiGo operates daily flights from Jharsuguda to Kolkata, Bengaluru, Delhi and Navi Mumbai, ensuring connectivity to major metros.
