Toyota has officially launched the eBella electric SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The eBella is the company's first dedicated electric vehicle for the Indian market and aims to compete with models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
Battery and Range
The eBella is offered with two battery pack options. The standard version gets a 58 kWh battery with an ARAI-certified range of 468 km, while the long-range variant features a 72.5 kWh battery that delivers up to 543 km on a single charge. The electric motor produces 201 bhp and 300 Nm of torque in the standard variant, while the long-range version churns out 215 bhp and 320 Nm.
Design and Features
The Toyota eBella EV is built on the e-TNGA platform and features a sleek, aerodynamic design. It comes with LED headlamps, a closed-off grille, and flush door handles. Inside, the SUV offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera.
Charging and Availability
The eBella supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes. It also comes with a 7.2 kW AC charger. Toyota has opened bookings for the eBella with an initial token amount of Rs 50,000. Deliveries are expected to begin in August 2026. The company plans to launch the eBella in five variants: Eco, Smart, Premium, Premium+, and Sport.
Competition and Pricing
The eBella is priced competitively against rivals. The standard variant starts at Rs 23.60 lakh, while the long-range variant is priced at Rs 27.40 lakh. The top-end Sport variant costs Rs 30.90 lakh. With this launch, Toyota aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian EV market.
