Vadodara: The Special Operations Group (SOG) on Wednesday apprehended a man for allegedly storing and vending cough syrup and other pharmaceuticals without authorization within the city. Law enforcement officials confirmed that a second individual believed to be implicated in the illicit operation remains at large, with efforts underway to locate him.
Raids and Seizures
According to police reports, acting on a confidential tip, SOG personnel conducted a raid at the residence of Satnasingh Sikligar on Ajwa Road. Authorities allege that Sikligar was unlawfully storing a substantial quantity of cough syrups and medicines at the premises. During the search, officials recovered a considerable stock of syrup bottles and tablets.
To verify and examine the confiscated items, the police summoned representatives from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) to the location. The seizure included 128 bottles of cough syrup along with dozens of tablets from Sikligar’s residence.
Accomplice Identified
Investigators have identified another suspect, Hirav Pandya, who has yet to be arrested. Police stated that Sikligar will be interrogated to determine the source of the medicines and to identify the individuals to whom the drugs were being supplied.
