The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has expressed strong support for the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) implementation of the three-language policy, calling it a significant step towards strengthening Indian languages, protecting linguistic diversity, and promoting national integration.
ABVP's Stance on the Three-Language Policy
Speaking at the opening of ABVP's three-day national executive council meeting in Bhubaneswar on Friday, ABVP national general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki stated, 'CBSE's move to implement the three-language policy is a landmark initiative that will empower students educationally and foster national unity.' He urged stakeholders to view the policy not through the lens of linguistic elitism but as a measure for educational empowerment and wider promotion of Indian languages.
Key Benefits Highlighted by ABVP
- Strengthening Indian Languages: The policy aims to revive and promote regional languages alongside Hindi and English.
- Protecting Linguistic Diversity: By mandating three languages, the policy safeguards India's rich linguistic heritage.
- Promoting National Integration: Learning multiple languages fosters understanding and unity among diverse communities.
Future Action Plans
Solanki added that the ABVP national executive council will work on suggestions and future action plans to ensure the policy's effective implementation. 'We consider this initiative an important instrument for improving education quality and reinforcing national integration,' he said.
The meeting, which continues over three days, will deliberate on strategies to support the policy and address any challenges that may arise during its rollout.
