Today, the founder and chairperson of the Blossom Kochhar Group is among the jury members for the Times Internet Ecopreneur Awards 2026. This initiative recognizes entrepreneurs and businesses building environmentally conscious solutions across industries. Her presence on the jury feels fitting, as for decades, Kochhar has advocated a return to nature-led beauty and wellness, long before sustainability became central to consumer culture.
But her story is not only about beauty. It is also about sustainability, education, and building an ecosystem that grew alongside India's changing relationship with wellness. The beginnings were modest. In a 2025 interview with The Times of India, Kochhar reflected on the early days of her entrepreneurial journey. "What began as a passion slowly became a purpose," she said, speaking about her belief in healing through nature and essential oils.
That belief eventually evolved into Aroma Magic, the flagship brand of the Blossom Kochhar Group. Founded in the early 1990s with her late husband Col. V. Kochhar, the company positioned itself around aromatherapy-based skincare and wellness products at a time when the category barely existed in India. Over time, her work expanded beyond products. She founded the Blossom Kochhar College of Creative Arts and Design (BKCCAD), which introduced structured training in beauty, hair, spa, and wellness education.
