Gorakhpur: In a major push for industrial growth and MSME development in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the state's second flatted factory complex at the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) on June 3.
Key Features of the Flatted Factory Complex
Built at a cost of Rs 42.5 crore in Sector-13, this plug-and-play facility is designed to accommodate 80 MSME units and is expected to generate direct employment for around 1,000 people. The project aims to promote sectors such as ready-made garments, information technology, and pharmaceuticals.
According to GIDA Chief Executive Officer Anuj Malik, entrepreneurs will be able to begin operations immediately after allotment as essential industrial infrastructure has already been provided. Spread over 10,860 square metres, the complex comprises a G+3 industrial block with 80 units and a utility block housing facilities such as banks, warehouses, and sales showrooms. This is the second such facility in Uttar Pradesh after the flatted factory complex established in Kanpur.
Additional Inaugurations and Projects
During his visit, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate a residential complex in Sector-11 comprising 96 flats—48 each under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) categories—for workers employed in GIDA units. Developed at a cost of Rs 18.54 crore, the project received a subsidy of Rs 11.02 crore.
Furthermore, Yogi will inaugurate or lay the foundation for 71 infrastructure projects worth nearly Rs 208 crore. These projects include roads, drainage, power, sewage, and waste-management works across various GIDA sectors, further strengthening the region's industrial ecosystem.
