Dan Ticktum made his trip to Monaco this season a very special one. The Cupra Kiro driver secured pole positions on both days of the Monaco E-Prix double-header. Things did not go his way in the Round 9 and Round 10 races, but that cannot take away from his back-to-back poles. He has now spoken about having mixed feelings from his Monaco outing, while adding that the team will work on solving the issue that cost him in the races.
Dan Ticktum on Double Poles at Monaco E-Prix
Dan Ticktum has mixed feelings about his racing experience in Monaco. He claimed pole positions on both days of the double-header, but the main races did not go as planned. In the Round 9 Monaco E-Prix, Ticktum finished third, but due to forcing Antonio Felix da Costa into the chicane in an incident that left a tyre detached from the car, he was handed a race penalty and stripped of the podium finish. His Cupra Kiro team-mate Pepe Martí was running fourth but was promoted to claim his maiden podium. Ticktum was eventually classified 14th in the race results. He suffered a similar fate on Day 2, finishing 12th in Round 10 despite starting from pole position.
Sharing his reaction after the Round 10 race in Monaco, Ticktum said, “I have mixed emotions from this weekend. It was an incredible achievement from the team and myself to secure consecutive pole positions, but the races were not ideal.” Further opening up about the problems, he said, “It was a mixture of the car being difficult to drive when the tyres are hot and strategy decisions overall, so yeah, just a mixed weekend. We need to go back to the drawing board and figure out why we struggle when the tyres are hot, but I’m very proud of everyone for the double pole and I’m looking forward to Sanya.”

That’ll do.” The video shows him speaking about being a polesitter in Monaco and ends with his mother giving him a hug. Reacting to it, Cupra Kiro’s Instagram page commented: “You should be proud of yourself, we definitely are.” A fan wrote, “You were doing good today, still proud of you.” Another commented: “Well done honey! We will win it all back!”
