In a recent demonstration shared through its official Made by Google X account, the tech giant revealed how users can leverage Gemini's video generation capabilities. The feature allows anyone to create high-quality, 8-second videos directly from text prompts, with the option to use personal images as starting points.
The example video featured an image of two houseplants accompanied by the prompt: "Two animated house plants inside this home invite us to a housewarming party at Emily's this Sunday at noon." Gemini then processed this input to generate a short clip where the plants appeared to move and speak naturally, complete with background music and ambient sounds.
This innovation represents Google's ongoing effort to make advanced AI tools more accessible and practical for everyday users. The technology enables people without any video editing experience to design personalized digital invitations, creative messages, and short clips using nothing more than a few words or images.
Access and Availability
Currently, Gemini's video-generation feature is exclusively available to paid subscribers under either the Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra plans. Free users do not have complete access to create videos, though Google has occasionally provided limited-time promotions allowing a few complimentary generations.
According to Google's official support documentation, personal account holders must maintain a Pro or Ultra subscription to utilize this capability. While some regions previously offered free trials, there is no ongoing free access available at present.
