Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi Engages Global Tech Leaders at Davos on AI and Digital Infrastructure

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi conducted high-level strategic discussions with leading global technology corporations, including NVIDIA and OpenAI, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The meetings, which also involved various international leaders from the technology, energy, and innovation sectors, centered on positioning Gujarat as a premier destination for cutting-edge investments.

Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing

In an exclusive conversation with ANI, Sanghavi revealed that the dialogues extensively covered artificial intelligence, advanced computing, data centers, and next-generation digital infrastructure. He emphasized Gujarat's strategic aim to attract high-tech and future-oriented investments, marking a significant shift from its traditional manufacturing roots.

"The discussions focused on artificial intelligence, advanced computing, data centers, and next-generation digital infrastructure, with Gujarat positioning itself as a preferred destination for high-tech and future-oriented investments," Sanghavi stated.

Exploring AI Integration and Digital Governance

The meetings delved into the integration of AI platforms such as Emerald AI, which tackle critical issues like energy fluctuations, emergency power management, and efficiency optimization in data centers. These aspects are vital for companies working on advanced AI and NVIDIA-powered computing systems.

Additionally, conversations with other technology leaders encompassed digital governance, healthcare technology, skill development, and industry-led innovation. This aligns with Gujarat's vision to evolve from a conventional manufacturing hub into a global leader in technology-enabled manufacturing and services.

Key Meetings and Collaborations

Sanghavi, who also oversees the Home, Transport, Sports & Culture, and Tourism portfolios in the Gujarat government, highlighted several pivotal interactions:

  • Meeting with NVIDIA: Sanghavi engaged with Elica Kyoseva of NVIDIA to explore next-generation collaborations, ranging from quantum innovation to future-ready data centers. This initiative aims to strengthen Gujarat's role as India's innovation powerhouse and a launchpad for frontier technologies.
  • Interaction with OpenAI: He held discussions with Chris Lehane from OpenAI on advancing AI enablement and the next wave of high-tech transformation. Sanghavi noted on social media platform X, "With robust digital infrastructure and a fast-growing talent base, Gujarat is building an ecosystem where responsible AI and world-class innovation can truly thrive."
  • Discussion with Cognizant: Sanghavi met with Jatin Dalal, Global CFO of Cognizant, to discuss the TechFin Centre at GIFT City in Gujarat. This center is emerging as a strategic hub for delivering advanced technology solutions to global clients. They explored strengthening workforce readiness by leveraging Gujarat's expanding pool of highly skilled technology professionals and deepening collaboration to support global innovation.

Expected Outcomes and Gujarat's Ambition

These high-level interactions are anticipated to result in technology partnerships, data centre investments, and innovation-driven projects in Gujarat in the near future. This reinforces the state's ambition to emerge as a global hub for AI, data infrastructure, and sustainable technology.

Reflections on India's Presence at Davos

Speaking on his agenda at Davos, Sanghavi shared, "For the last three days, we have had 58 meetings with global leaders in different sectors, and we have received a very good response. This time, you can see a different flavour of India in Davos. You have seen many countries' pavilions, but the Indian pavilion has a different flavour. This is the New India."

The engagements underscore Gujarat's proactive approach in leveraging international forums like Davos to foster technological advancements and economic growth, setting a benchmark for other Indian states in the global tech landscape.
