Reviewing reforms in the skill development and industrial training (SDIT) department, Haryana chief secretary Anurag Rastogi said the state aims to modernise Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), introduce AI and emerging technology courses, and strengthen industry-linked training systems in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat'.

Expansion into Renewable Energy and Advanced Manufacturing

Officials said the government is also expanding skill programmes in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing while preparing large-scale upskilling initiatives for government employees to improve digital readiness and workplace efficiency.

Training for Government Employees

Over 7,000 contractual workers deployed through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam have already been trained in soft skills and IT literacy through the Haryana Skill Development Mission in collaboration with Haryana Knowledge Corporation Limited. The government now plans similar training for Group C and Group D staff, including drivers and peons, across districts.

Skill-Gap Study to Identify Future Trends

To identify future employment trends, the state has commissioned a comprehensive skill-gap study, expected by July, focusing on emerging technologies and industrial requirements. This study will help shape the training programs to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.
