IISc Launches Wadhwani Innovation Centre for Quantum Startups

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has launched the Wadhwani Innovation Centre at its Bengaluru campus to accelerate the growth of quantum and deep-tech startups. The centre aims to provide a robust ecosystem for innovation, offering resources and mentorship to early-stage ventures in these cutting-edge fields. The launch event also featured the ‘Quantum Pitch Fest 2026’, where startups presented their ideas to investors and industry leaders. Additionally, IISc unveiled a dedicated startup acceleration platform named ‘InQubate’, designed to support founders in scaling their technologies. This initiative is expected to strengthen India’s position in quantum computing and deep-tech innovation, fostering collaboration between academia and industry. The centre will focus on areas such as quantum communication, quantum sensing, and advanced materials, providing lab facilities and funding opportunities. With this move, IISc aims to nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs who can solve complex challenges using deep-tech solutions. The Wadhwani Innovation Centre is part of a broader effort to boost the startup ecosystem in Karnataka and beyond, aligning with national priorities in technology and self-reliance.
