Kanimozhi Warns Against AI Misinformation, Urges Rational Thinking
Kanimozhi: AI Can Be Wrong, Rely on Rational Thinking

Coimbatore: DMK deputy general secretary and MP Kanimozhi stated that even AI tools could be wrong, emphasizing that people should rely on rational thinking over being influenced by social media.

Call for Rational Thinking

Speaking at a self-respect wedding in the city on Wednesday, Kanimozhi highlighted rationalist EVR Periyar's core message: question authority and avoid believing claims simply because they came from someone influential.

She said, 'Instagram and WhatsApp University often reshape opinions through misinformation, including false claims such as Tamil Nadu appointing its first woman minister only recently, despite women holding ministerial roles even before Independence and under successive DMK governments.'

Blind Acceptance of Unverified Advice

Kanimozhi also noted that social media spreads unverified advice on health, parenting, and lifestyle, and people often accept it blindly without checking qualifications or evidence.

She urged the audience to exercise critical thinking and verify information before accepting it as truth, especially in an age where AI and digital platforms can propagate errors.
