CUDDALORE: The Department of Posts has released a special cover under the theme '70 years of energising the nation with sustainability' to commemorate NLC India Limited's (NLCIL) seven-decade-long journey. The special cover highlights NLCIL's enduring spirit and its significant contributions to nation-building and sustainable energy development over the past 70 years, according to a company release.
Release of the Special Cover
Sayeed Rashid, Postmaster General of the Southern Region, who holds additional charge of the Central Region, officially released the special cover. NLCIL Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli received the first cover during the ceremony.
Address at the 70th Raising Day Celebrations
Speaking at the company's 70th Raising Day celebrations, Prasanna Kumar highlighted NLCIL's remarkable growth trajectory. He noted that the company has transitioned from a market capitalisation of around Rs 9,000 crore to over Rs 50,000 crore, evolving from a small-cap to a mid-cap company. This growth, he said, is driven by strong investor confidence resulting from ambitious targets.
Prasanna Kumar reiterated the key targets set for NLCIL: doubling mining production, tripling thermal power generation, increasing solar power generation seven-fold, and achieving a capital expenditure (Capex) of Rs 1.25 lakh crore. He emphasised that achieving these goals requires concerted effort from all stakeholders.
The event underscored NLCIL's commitment to sustainable energy and its role in energising the nation for the past 70 years.
