YouTuber Reckless Ben has released unredacted police bodycam footage from his arrest on March 11, 2026, drawing significant online attention. The video was uploaded on June 4, 2026, and captures conversations between law enforcement officers, Joshua Johnson—the franchise owner of Bricks & Minifigs Salem-Keizer—and comments attributed to Ammon McNeff, the CEO of Bricks & Minifigs. The arrest occurred while Reckless Ben was outside Johnson’s residence.
Background of the Dispute
The incident stems from a long-running conflict involving a reported $200,000 LEGO Star Wars collection belonging to the Mansell family. According to Bryan Mansell, much of the collection was not returned after the ownership of the Bricks & Minifigs Salem-Keizer store changed hands in late 2024. Reckless Ben has been covering this dispute, which led to his arrest.
Allegations and Legal Arguments
In the newly released footage, Joshua Johnson accused Reckless Ben of stalking and harassment. During a phone conversation audible in the video, Johnson spoke with CEO Ammon McNeff, who discussed potential legal action against Ben and his team. McNeff stated that authorities were prepared to pursue charges for what he described as cyberbullying and digital stalking. He said: “We’re ready and willing to arrest these individuals for Utah, you know, like Utah statutes for cyber bullying and, like, digital stalking because they’re using electronic means for, you know, communication and coordinating their stalking. It’s all of the above.”
Johnson also argued that Ben’s attempt to serve legal papers through another person was illegal. However, Reckless Ben defended the process, explaining that under Utah law, any person over 18 who is not affiliated with the case and is not an attorney can serve papers. He stated: “In the state of Utah, to be a process server, all you have to do is be over the age of 18 years old. You got to be not affiliated with the case, and you can’t be an attorney. And this girl meets all three. She is over 18 years old. I literally met her like 10 minutes before we showed up here, and she’s not an attorney. So, legally in the state of Utah, this woman is a process server.”
Aftermath and Claims
The footage shows police speaking with Johnson before officers arrested Ben. Ben later claimed that police searched his home and suspected him of being connected to the missing LEGO collection. In the same June 4 video, Reckless Ben alleged that Bricks & Minifigs had been making false reports in his name to get him arrested. He denied making any threats and claimed that police agencies in Utah and Los Angeles were collaborating to pursue him. Ben also stated that he is currently outside the United States and believes American authorities cannot reach him there.
Separately, Patreon CEO Jack Conte responded to a takedown request from Bricks & Minifigs involving Reckless Ben’s content. According to Ben, Conte replied, “Bricks & Minifigs can stuff it.”
