Salem Division Enhances Train Services with Additional AC Coaches

COIMBATORE: In a move to accommodate the growing number of passengers, Indian Railways has permanently augmented two pairs of trains operating via the Salem division. Each train will now include an additional AC 3-tier coach, effective from mid-June.

Augmented Train Details

The following trains have been enhanced with one AC 3-tier coach:

  • No. 16787 Tirunelveli – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Navyug Weekly Express: Augmented from June 15.
  • No. 16788 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Tirunelveli Navyug Weekly Express: Augmented from June 18.
  • No. 16317 Kanyakumari – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Himsagar Weekly Express: Augmented from June 19.
  • No. 16318 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Kanyakumari Himsagar Weekly Express: Augmented from June 22.

This permanent augmentation aims to provide more comfortable travel options for passengers on these long-distance routes. The addition of AC 3-tier coaches is expected to alleviate overcrowding and improve the overall travel experience.
