Kurukshetra Police Arrest Three in Dating App Fraud Case

Kurukshetra police have arrested three individuals in connection with an online fraud case, where a victim was cheated out of Rs 1.8 lakh after being lured with promises of easy money through a dating application.

Complaint and Investigation

According to a police spokesperson, the case was registered following a complaint filed on April 25 by Sukhpreet Singh, a resident of Nalvi village in Kurukshetra. The businessman reported that he created his profile on a dating app on March 14. Subsequently, he received a friend request from a woman who initiated conversations with him over the phone.

The woman later introduced him to a website, claiming it offered opportunities to earn money easily. Falling into the trap, the victim transferred a total of Rs 1.8 lakh on different dates into bank accounts provided by the accused. After a few days, the woman switched off her phone, prompting the victim to realize he had been defrauded.
