Policeman Fractured in Drug Raid Car Ramming

A policeman sustained a fracture in his right hand after a suspected drug peddler rammed his car into the officer's bike while trying to escape from a Dansaf team during a drug raid at Chathannur on Tuesday. Chathannur police later arrested the accused, identified as Sanoj (34) of Karamcode, and seized drugs, including MDMA, from his possession.

Incident Details

The injured policeman, identified as Dansaf team member Shefeek, is currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital. The incident occurred on the JSM Junction-Karamcode Kinarumukku road around 8 pm. According to police, the team received information that Sanoj had arrived in the area in a car carrying drugs. When the team attempted to intercept the vehicle, Sanoj allegedly tried to flee from the spot.

Chase and Collision

During the chase, Shefeek followed the car on a bike. Police reported that Sanoj deliberately rammed his car into the officer's bike, causing him to fall and sustain injuries. The accused then attempted to escape from the area but was taken into custody. Further investigation is under way.
