A 29-year-old advocate in Bengaluru was allegedly assaulted by a Zepto delivery executive on Tuesday evening in MSR Nagar, Sadashivanagar. The incident, which has sparked outrage, occurred when the delivery agent became enraged after the advocate failed to answer his phone calls.
Details of the Incident
The advocate, whose identity has been withheld, had placed an order on the Zepto app. The delivery executive reportedly attempted to contact him multiple times to confirm the delivery location. However, the advocate was unable to answer the calls due to being engaged in a professional meeting. Frustrated by the lack of response, the delivery agent allegedly confronted the advocate at his residence and physically assaulted him.
Police Action
Following the assault, the advocate filed a complaint at the Sadashivanagar police station. The police have registered a case against the delivery executive under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for assault and causing hurt. An investigation is underway, and the accused is being questioned.
