A significant fire broke out at a plastic goods store on the second floor of City Mall on Jhalawar Road in Kota district on Wednesday, completely destroying the outlet but causing no casualties. The blaze started around 10:30 am at the store, which had not yet been formally inaugurated.
Quick Response Averts Major Disaster
Since business activity in the mall had not commenced at the time, a major mishap was avoided. Security guards initially attempted to control the fire using in-house equipment, but the flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire floor and filling the building with thick smoke.
Cause of the Fire
According to fire officer Amzad Khan of the Kota Municipal Corporation, preliminary investigations point to a short circuit in the electrical panel of the store, which was operated by a Malaysia-based company. The fire department was alerted and brought the situation under control after several hours of effort.
No injuries were reported, and the exact extent of the damage is being assessed. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine the precise cause of the incident.
