Jaipur Metro Phase II to Move Forward with Work Order Soon
Jaipur Metro Phase II Work Order to Be Issued Soon

The second phase of the Jaipur Metro project is set to progress, as the Rajasthan Metro Railway Corporation Ltd (RMRCL) prepares to issue the work order shortly, according to a statement released on Wednesday.

Work Order for First Package Imminent

Following the Union Cabinet's approval of Phase II, RMRCL will issue the work order for the initial package, which covers the 12-kilometre corridor from Prahladpura to Pinjrapole Gaushala, at the earliest. The release noted that rapid progress is being made toward issuing tenders for the remaining packages in the coming days.

Funding Structure Under Metro Rail Policy 2017

The project will be implemented under the Metro Rail Policy 2017, under which the central government will provide 50% equity support. This funding structure is expected to significantly ease the financial burden on the Rajasthan government.

An official stated, "Consequently, this will reduce the financial burden on the state government. The project has been targeted for completion by 2031. RMRCL, with a 50:50 partnership between the centre and the state, will construct the corridor."

Project Details and Timeline

The Phase II corridor will be constructed by RMRCL, a joint venture with equal equity from the central and state governments. The completion target for the entire Phase II project is 2031. The first package alone covers a 12-kilometre stretch, and work orders for other packages are expected to follow soon.
