Karnataka Govt Approves Electric Bus Depot in Mysuru

The Karnataka state government has granted administrative approval for the construction of an electric bus depot on 4.5 acres of land in Banni Mantap, Mysuru. This site is where the KSRTC suburban bus stand is currently under development.

Depot Details and Timeline

KSRTC has floated a tender for the construction of the e-bus depot and is expected to finalise it by the last week of this month. The new facility will feature charging infrastructure to support an electric fleet of buses. The state government is deploying 100 electric buses to operate on city routes.

Cost and Capacity

The e-bus depot will be built at a cost of Rs 7 crore. It will have parking space for 75 electric buses and charging points for 25 buses, along with other amenities. This initiative aligns with the Union government's sanction of 100 e-buses to the Mysuru depot as part of enhancing eco-friendly transportation and increasing green mobility.
