Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has issued a directive to social media companies to take stringent action against misinformation surrounding the upcoming NEET-UG examination. The minister ordered a crackdown on fake Telegram channels and instructed platforms to proactively detect and block networks spreading false information.
Government's Stance on Exam Integrity
The move comes amid concerns over the integrity of the examination process. Pradhan emphasized that any attempt to spread rumors or false claims about the exam would be dealt with firmly. He urged social media platforms to cooperate with authorities to ensure a fair and transparent examination environment.
Measures Against Misinformation
Key measures include the identification and removal of fake accounts and channels that have been circulating misleading content. Social media companies have been asked to deploy advanced tools to monitor and curb the spread of misinformation in real-time. The Ministry of Education is also working closely with cybersecurity agencies to track the origin of such content.
Students and parents are advised to rely only on official communication channels for updates regarding the NEET-UG examination. The government reiterated its commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the examination process and ensuring that no external elements disrupt it.
