Apple Expands Hardware Portfolio with New Devices in India

Apple has recently introduced a range of new products to its hardware lineup, now available for purchase in India. These additions include an entry-level iPhone, updated MacBook models with the latest chips, and refreshed display options, marking a significant update to Apple's offerings in the market.

iPhone 17e: Affordable Innovation with Advanced Features

The iPhone 17e serves as the entry model in the iPhone 17 series, replacing last year's iPhone 16e. Priced starting at Rs 64,900 for the 256GB variant and Rs 74,900 for the 512GB model, it is available in Black, Soft Pink, and White. Powered by the A19 chip on 3nm technology and paired with the C1X modem, it promises enhanced speed and power efficiency. The device features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, protected by Ceramic Shield 2 for improved scratch resistance. Key specifications include an aluminium frame, Face ID, an Action button, and IP68 water resistance.

On the camera front, the iPhone 17e boasts a 48MP Fusion camera system with 2x optical-quality telephoto crop and improved Portrait mode, supporting 4K Dolby Vision video recording at up to 60fps. The front camera remains a 12MP sensor. New additions include MagSafe support with Qi2 wireless charging for up to 15W, compatibility with magnetic accessories, and satellite connectivity for Emergency SOS and Messages. It runs iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence features like Live Translation and Call Screening.

MacBook Neo: Entry-Level Laptop with Powerful Performance

Apple has launched the MacBook Neo as a new entry-level MacBook, starting at Rs 69,900 for the base configuration with 8GB unified memory and 256GB storage, and Rs 79,900 for the 512GB variant. Students can avail a Rs 10,000 education discount. Powered by the A18 Pro chip, the same as in the iPhone 16 Pro, it features a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and 60 GB/s memory bandwidth, running macOS Tahoe with Apple Intelligence support.

The laptop sports a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with 2408 × 1506 resolution and up to 500 nits brightness, using sRGB colour. It weighs 1.23kg and comes in Blush, Citrus, Indigo, and Silver colours. Connectivity includes two USB-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for one external 4K display. Other features are a mechanical Multi-Touch trackpad, Magic Keyboard, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, dual-speaker system, and two microphones. Battery life is rated for up to 16 hours of video streaming, and it ships with a 20W adapter.

Apple has also updated several other products. The MacBook Air (2026) with the M5 chip starts at Rs 1,19,900 for the 13-inch model and Rs 1,44,900 for the 15-inch version, available in Sky Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and Silver. A configuration with a 10-core CPU and GPU starts at Rs 1,29,900.

The MacBook Pro (2026) with the M5 Pro chip begins at Rs 2,49,900 for the 14-inch model with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage, while the M5 Max variant costs Rs 3,99,900. Upgrades include an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU for an additional Rs 20,000, with 48GB RAM and 2TB storage each costing Rs 40,000 extra.

New Studio Display models include the standard-glass version starting at Rs 1,89,900 with a tilt-adjustable stand or VESA mount. The nano-texture glass variant is priced at Rs 2,29,900, and the tilt- and height-adjustable stand version costs Rs 2,39,900. Education pricing starts at Rs 1,77,900. The Studio Display XDR begins at Rs 3,99,900 for the standard glass model with a tilt- and height-adjustable stand, with the nano-texture glass version at Rs 4,39,900 and education pricing from Rs 3,87,900.
